Hi! I am Weining and I worked as a software engineer at Amazon RDS.
I graduated from University of British Columbia (UBC) in with master in statistics. Prior to that I obtained my bachelor of science in Computer Science from UBC.
In the summer of 2016, I worked as a software engineer intern at Amazon AWS. The project I worked on would enable the automation of webpage content update without the need for code deployment.
In the summer of 2015, I worked as a research assistant at Statistics department at UBC under the supervison of
Prof. Wu Lang
and
Prof.Paul Gustafson. The research work I was doing focused on
the analysis of clinical trials and longitudinal datasets. Medical data can sometimes be messy and incomplete and therefore I also develop interest in methods dealing with censored data, sparse data
and nonparametric methods.
In my spare time, I like to play around with data visualization tools. Thanks to my background in computer science, I have more opportunities
to try many different tools and languages to see what combination could present the best visualization effect and maybe reveal the fact that was ignored
before. I am particularly interested in raising the awareness of inequality of women in STEM. Click here
